Lena Konstantakou is a Greek photographic artist based in Athens. After studying Art & Design and Graphic Design in the United Kingdom, she spent more than a decade working in London's publishing industry, including as Art Editor for the commercial department of the Daily Telegraph.
Her artistic practice explores memory, family bonds, heritage, and the relationship between landscape and emotional experience. Working with photography and alternative processes, including cyanotype, she creates poetic images that investigate how place, nature, and personal histories shape our sense of identity and belonging.
Drawing inspiration from literature and poetry, Konstantakou's work often centres on the quiet significance of everyday moments, revealing the emotional and symbolic layers embedded within familiar environments. Her recent projects have focused on themes of ancestry, remembrance, continuity, and the enduring connection between people and the landscapes they inhabit.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at House of Lucie (Los Angeles) and The Other Art Fair (London). She has received recognition from the Lucie Foundation, the Royal Photographic Society, and the Julia Margaret Cameron Award, where she was awarded for her work in alternative photographic processes.
In 2022 she published her first photobook, The Extraordinary Will Take Care of Itself, with the Dutch publisher Lecturis. Her work is held in private collections in Greece, the United Kingdom, Germany, and the United States.
